The House

Ten chairs,
one standard.

Royal Barber Studio sits on Shepherd Road on the south side of Lakeland: a wide open floor, chairs down both walls, mirrors and stations for every barber, and a bank of hex lighting overhead so nobody is cutting in shadow. Crowns on the wall, which is where the name comes from.

It is a friendly shop, not a fussy one. Bring the kids. Pay with a card or a tap. Book ahead if you want a specific time, and if you are passing through, walk in and see what the board looks like.

Everybody gets the same chair, and the same attention in it.

The Register

What the chair
is for.

Standard barbering, done properly. Ask your barber what suits the growth pattern you actually have.

I Men's haircut Scissor and clipper work, washed down and finished the way you wear it.
II Skin fade Taken down to the skin and blended clean, no shelf, no line where there should not be one.
III Taper A softer graduation at the neck and sides. Grows out without a hard reset.
IV Line-up Edge work on the hairline and temples between full cuts. In and out.
V Beard trim and shape Length taken down evenly, cheek and neck lines set, moustache tidied.
VI Hot towel shave Steamed, lathered and taken with a straight razor. Finished cool.
VII Kids cut Patient work for younger heads. The shop is set up for it.
VIII Cut and beard together The full sit. Book the longer slot so nothing gets rushed.

Saturdays run nine to five. Sundays the shop is closed, so plan the week around it.
